Fish meets Gary Green @ NEARfest

I came across a photo on my phone that I neglected to post post-NEARfest X.
I took it in the Comfort Suites lobby at last call.

In this picture you can see Fish touching his own face, showing slight shame and embarassment, while Gary Green making a comforting gesture and laughing.

What happened was this:
Fish and his band & crew had some difficulty at the front desk of the hotel. After some deliberation, they finally got to go up to their rooms.

Fish may have downed the 2 bottles of white wine they gave him at the front desk, and was back down later on to hit up the bar. The bar tender had already called last call, and I calling a cab in the lobby.

As legendary, former singer of Marillion Fish tried to get in the door of the bar, Gary Green, legendary guitarist of Gentle Giant stood in the doorway, saying, "Hey, Fish!"

Fish (just having played a show and dealt with an enormous line of auto-and-photo-graphs-and-more-seeking fangeeks) muttered something rude, seeing this balding, bespectacled man half his size blocking his way to the booze.

So Gary said, "Oi! I'm Gary Green from Gentle Giant; the band on that fucking shirt you're wearing!"

Fish was like, "Oooooooo!" Feeling really embarassed and humbled, thought of something quick to excuse himself. Anyway, they hugged and laughed, and they both decided to get over to the bar to see if they were still serving. They were, and they drank shots and happily shot the shit until after I left.
