Happy New Year

As "they" say, the "landscape" of the internet, social media, etc. is ever changing.

Every once in a while, it seems that I switch avenues for posting various, silly, personal things online.

Not long ago, I re-consolidated things into this blog, bailing out of a crumbling social media site. Now I seem to be rerouting some of that stuff back into some other social media site.

So, I just wanted to say that this blog is not dead. I'm still here, alive and well. The posts are less frequent because certain content is being posted in a more personal venue.

Fahking Buuhhds

I've been saying for a while that I'm going to delete my Twitter account.

Each time I go to do it, I suddenly read all these great "tweets," and I change my mind. I would like to continue to read stuff posted by (for examples) Jem Godfrey, Mark Kelly, James Hakola, "Sh*t My Dad Says," etc. all on one page.

So I'm gonna keep it open, but I won't be posting anything there (unless the tide changes and I find a reason to start up again).

So that's why the Twitter module (entitled "Fahking Buuhhds Twitt'ring!") on the right side of the page has disappeared.

I'm making some internal changes to the mechanics of this blog, and there have been some casualties in the process. I'm trying to work it out.

And, yes, this post and it's title are actually and only just another way of telling myself not to lose my temper over losing formatting details and elements that I deem important due to possible, undiagnosed Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or somesuch I may be endowed with.

More blah blah Blog consolidation

A note from my MySpace blog on my consolodation of blogs into this (you are here) one.:

The contents of [my personal myspace] blog are slowly being integrated into my official site bobkurthy.com (simple enough. Once there, click on "news/blog").

I used to want the official blog to be more "professional" and only include news on my artwork projects, but...f**k it.

Then there's the http://blog.myspace.com/bobkurthymusic blog, which is just for my music stuff.

Bugger.

This MySpace blog was the complete one, with personal nonsense, stuff about my beloved progressive rock, along with artwork & music stuff. Now I want all that in a blog that's not tied to MySpace usage.

I have friends that wrinkle & rant in disgust of MySpace, yet they're on Facebook. =ppphphph-BWAHAHAHAH= What's the f**king difference? But the tides turn and turn - everyone's on Friendster, migrate to MySpace, leaving Friendster a ghosttown, migrate to Facebook, what's next? I read that Twitter is the gargantuan thing, yet I know like 1 person on there. What about Plurk? Bebo? Blip.fm? Last.fm? Poopoopadoobiedoo dot Korg? =shrug=

So, I figure 1 blog, untethered to fickle social networking sitegoers (Yes, I'm one too) is the way to go.

Not that anyone will read it; not that it contains anything of consequence or influence on the world, but I enjoy doing it and having it regardless.

Conway Twitty

I've added a Twitter feed to the sidebar of this blog.

I'm betting more of you will get the reference in the link below the feed than in the title above it. (If you get the latter, let me know!)

I'm not sure why I'm "twittering;" I'm just experimenting with it to see what all the hype is about.

I've been on Friendster (not anymore), MySpace (still, big network; 3 pages: personal, solo music, and recently defunct band), Facebook (now, tiny network), and now Twitter.

So far, MySpace is still the best for my money.

It allows for much for media rich expression, which is probably important to an artist/musician, wouldn't ya say?
